2017 Golf Tournament

A Success and Great Fun

2017 VA-DC Soccer Hall of Fame Golf Tournament

On April 28, 2017 the second VA-DC SHOF Golf Tournament was held at Reston National Golf Course.  35 golfers participated and the weather was great.

Many thanks go out to all of those who helped make it a success from our sponsors, teams, and individuals.   First, I’d like the volunteers for their help:  Julie Caramanica for her ongoing leadership, Adele Dolansky and Anne Thompson for running the registration for a second time., Keith Tabatsnik for his keynote address and rounding up a team,  and SHOFers Gary Allen, Jaime Moreno, Richard Broad for supporting the tournament with their attendance.

The day started with registration and breakfast.  Everyone teed off at 9:00 am and after playing their best golf while enjoying adult beverages on the course, lunch was served, Rob Hur of DC United spoke about the new stadium progress and Keith Tabatsnik spoke about the SHOF urged everyone to double the size of the tournament next year.  Then awards were presented and a raffle followed.  The event concluded about 2:00 pm

We owe a special thanks to WAGS for their great support.  Other team and hole sponsors were: the Chris Sanders Group, Clare & Don’s, Clark Construction, DC United, Gordon, Ireland’s Four Courts and Procon Consulting LLC.  Many of these sponsors are repeats from the first tournament and we really appreciate their continued support.  Other special donors and contributors were: Reston National Golf Course, Applied Fire Protection Engineering, Washington Trophy Center, The US Men’s National Soccer Team, Milani Construction, Demosphere, and VYSA.  Thanks to Aaron Willis for the on course sales and photography and to Kevin Morison for the luncheon photography.

The tournament is a fun and entertaining way to help support the Hall of Fame.  We urge everyone to consider joining us for the next golf tournament.

Thanks,

Bill Willis
